If fireworks aren't your vibe or you're looking for something to do during the day, the Space Coast has so many events going on this upcoming weekend.
Here's a list of activities that will make your 4th of July memorable:
The city of Rockledge is holding their 35th annual Independence day Picnic on July 4th at McLarty Park. This picnic will take place from 10AM to 2PM and has games, music and food for the whole family. Purchase a hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink for just $1.00!
Food Truck Event
If you’re looking to try great food but can’t decide where to start, consider this a sign. The Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Food Truck event at Wickham Park! This event will take place Friday July 1st from 5 - 9PM and will have great food, live music and inflatables for kids.
Kayaking
Many kayaking tours in the Space Coast offer kayaking at night. And the best part is July is right in the middle of the bioluminescence season! Throughout your tour you can see a magical glow of bright blues and greens in the water. this is called bioluminescence which is caused by light emissions from little fishes and organisms.
Here are three kayaking tours that offer this nighttime tour:
- Fin Expedition
- Calypso Kayaking
- Cocoa kayaking
Boat Charter or Rental
Another great activity for the family is to rent a boat on the Indian River. This is the perfect thing to do on a hot holiday weekend. Choose between a charter with a provided captain or go for a rental and drive it yourself! You’ll be able to see dolphins and manatees while sailing around and enjoying the water.
