In Florida, the transition from summer to fall is a gradual one. The temperatures begin to cool down in October, and by November they're generally comfortable for spending time outdoors. Although we won't have colorful falling leaves like other places, we can still have fun decorating for it!
Let's look at some Fall décor trends that are taking place in 2022:
Transition your home into cozier colors like warm reds, oranges and browns. Choosing colors on the warmer side of the color palette will make your space seem cozier even if your A/C is still running. Green, traditionally a summer color, can fit your fall theme if you lean into a deep forest hue. Plus, it goes great with tones of brown and orange. You can easily incorporate these by switching out throw pillows, blankets, candles or maybe a rug. If you want to make a bigger change, you can always repaint an accent wall or two.
Another great way to add pops of orange to your home is with flowers or other nature-inspired decorations. Fall flowers like mums are beautiful and come in many shades of orange. You can also find artificial pumpkins, leaves, and branches that would look lovely displayed around your home.
Flowers are another great way to incorporate Fall into your space. This year, dried arrangements are making a statement. They fit the autumn vibes better than a natural bloom and will last for weeks instead of days. Look for Chrysanthemums, Daisies, and Sunflowers to brighten up your space. Maybe pick some up from The Patinated Fleur in Cocoa Village!
You can also use gourds, pumpkins, and leaves as decoration. Pumpkins are a must-have for Fall and there are so many ways to incorporate them into your décor. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and add a fun pop to any display. From painting them to carving them, they make the perfect addition. For a touch of elegance, consider adding some acorns or branches into your arrangement. This will give it a more natural look that is perfect for the season.
This year, woven decorations have been making a comeback, and Fall will not be exempt! Feature this material in baskets, chairs, rugs or lamp shades. They will add another layer of texture and depth to your space. These small changes will add just the right amount of cozy without making your home feel overloaded.
Another great option for adding fall warmth to your home is with area rugs. Again, think warm colors and textures when choosing a rug. A wool or jute rug would be perfect for this season. If you already have a rug in your space, simply add a few throw blankets in complementary colors. Drape them over the back of a couch or armchair, or simply fold them and place them on the floor near the coffee table. Not only will they look great, but they'll also be nice and cozy to curl up with on those chilly evenings!
One of the best things about fall is being able to decorate your home with all of the wonderful colors and textures that the season has to offer. Mix and match elements until you find the perfect balance for your space. From cozy blankets and throws, to warm autumn-scented candles, there are so many ways to make your home feel like autumn. So, this month, take some time to enjoy the season by adding some special touches around your home. Your family and friends will be sure to appreciate it!
