Your Ultimate Spring Cleaning Checklist for 2023

Spring is a season of renewal and rejuvenation, a time when we shake off the winter blues and prepare ourselves for the warmer months ahead. It’s also the perfect time to do a deep clean of our homes and get rid of any clutter and dirt that may have accumulated over the winter. To help you get started, here is your ultimate spring cleaning checklist for 2023.

Declutter
The first step in any spring cleaning checklist is decluttering. Go through your home and get rid of anything that you no longer need or use. This includes old clothes, books, and other items that are taking up valuable space in your home. Donate or sell anything that is still in good condition, and throw away anything that is beyond repair.

Dust and vacuum
Once you’ve decluttered your home, it’s time to start cleaning. Begin by dusting all surfaces, including shelves, windowsills, and furniture. Use a microfiber cloth or a duster to avoid spreading dust around the room. Next, vacuum all floors . ...

Fall Décor Trends 2022

In Florida, the transition from summer to fall is a gradual one. The temperatures begin to cool down in October, and by November they're generally comfortable for spending time outdoors. Although we won't have colorful falling leaves like other places, we can still have fun decorating for it!

Let's look at some Fall décor trends that are taking place in 2022:

Colors

Transition your home into cozier colors like warm reds, oranges and browns. Choosing colors on the warmer side of the color palette will make your space seem cozier even if your A/C is still running. Green, traditionally a summer color, can fit your fall theme if you lean into a deep forest hue. Plus, it goes great with tones of brown and orange. You can easily incorporate these by switching out throw pillows, blankets, candles or maybe a rug. If you want to make a bigger change, you can always repaint an accent wall or two.
Another great way to add pops of orange to your home is with flowers or other ...

Rules To Follow When Decluttering Your Home

Decluttering: a word that oftentimes is thought to be time consuming, stressful, and sometimes even unsuccessful, but it's something that needs to be done from time to time. We tend to hold onto more and more items that we think we need, and before we know it, our home is overwhelmed with clutter. Sorting through all your belongings can be very helpful if you're thinking about moving. Why pack up and move extra stuff that you don't even use? It's a great time to get rid of it!

Here are 7 rules to help declutter your space:

Everything Must Fit In Its Container
Think about your home as a bunch of containers. This could be a closet, drawer, shelf, or a room. The thing about containers is the items within it should fit comfortably inside. For example, let's say you have a drawer in your dresser dedicated to workout clothes. The drawer is your container and the clothes are its items. When it starts getting to the point where the drawer won't close, it means you might have t ...

Best House Plants For Beginners

I got my first house plant a year ago. It added color and brightness to my small, dark bedroom. Back then I was hesitant to add “water plant” to my daily to-do list. What if I forgot? What if I watered it too much, or too little? Or what if I gave it too little sun and it was too late? I didn't want to subject an innocent plant to my unskillful hands that definitely had no gardening skills.

When I realized that not all houseplants require constant attention or a meticulous watering schedule, it was easy to decide which plant to add to my home. Some just aren’t picky when it comes to watering and sun, and there are so many benefits to owning one! Adding greenery to a home adds color and breaks up traditional décor. They can clean up your air, relieve stress and even rid your space of toxins.

Here are 5 of the best houseplants for beginners:

Pothos

My personal favorite is the Pothos plant. You won’t have to worry about forgetting to water ; ...

Best Ways to Make a Small Room Look Spacious

Having a small space can be frustrating, especially when it’s your living room or bedroom. We all love a big airy room to relax in. But you don't have to start a full home renovation just to open up a room. There are more affordable and less invasive ways to make a room look bigger. From the furniture you buy to the colors you use, you can easily achieve a spacious room without having to break down a wall.

Whether you’re trying to sell your home or simply want to refresh an old space, here are some tips to trick guests into thinking a room is bigger than it actually is:

Furniture
First off, move your furniture away from walkways. When obstacles sit in the natural path of a room, it cuts off the flow of the space. Spaces appear smaller when guests have to maneuver around the furniture. Moving furniture away from these paths will instantly help.

Changing your furniture can have the biggest effect on the perceived size of your space. Your furniture must ...
