Having a small space can be frustrating, especially when it’s your living room or bedroom. We all love a big airy room to relax in. But you don't have to start a full home renovation just to open up a room. There are more affordable and less invasive ways to make a room look bigger. From the furniture you buy to the colors you use, you can easily achieve a spacious room without having to break down a wall.
Whether you’re trying to sell your home or simply want to refresh an old space, here are some tips to trick guests into thinking a room is bigger than it actually is:
Furniture
First off, move your furniture away from walkways. When obstacles sit in the natural path of a room, it cuts off the flow of the space. Spaces appear smaller when guests have to maneuver around the furniture. Moving furniture away from these paths will instantly help.
Changing your furniture can have the biggest effect on the perceived size of your space. Your furniture must ...

It has been the year of the Charcuterie board. People like choice and abundance. Place a charcuterie board down in front of people and they get to pick and choose what they like, making flavor combinations that appeal to them. It’s like a food version of choose-your-own adventure. When you're looking to entertain or need ideas for an event, think of Local Chef Tina Jean. She has the art of the board down to a science.
NASA is what first brought her and her family to the wonderful Space Coast community in 2019. She is a ten year Air Force Veteran, stay-at-home mom and now your local personal chef! After proudly serving her country in the USAF, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science and Management and became an Instructor Chef at a well-known cooking school in Utah.
In addition to teaching classes, she also ran her personal chef business, The Custom Chef, LLC. In this business, she combines her love of teaching and passion for coo ...

If you haven’t heard about the big news that is happening in Central and Southern Florida, you’re about to find out!
Projected to be in full service at the beginning of 2022, Virgin Trains USA- formerly known as Brightline- will complete its tracks between Orlando and West Palm Beach. The long term goal will be to link Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport. With constant travel between Miami and Orlando, this makes total sense. It also allows for people to take a break from driving and focusing on the road to enjoy time with family and friends during their travel!
Last month, (September 2020), Virgin Trains broke ground on the Orlando to West Palm Beach leg of the higher speed rail service. This is a huge opportunity for Central and Southern Florida! Not only is it creating a huge commuter railway for locals and tourists, but it will generate more jobs!
From what we are hearing, tickets can cost as low as $100 from Orland ...

Both my husband and I grew up in Merritt Island and graduated from Merritt Island High School. After spending some time in Orlando (and what felt like a moment in Austin), we moved back to Brevard County so he could be closer to his job.
What's great about this area is that it has a little bit of everything. Within the same day, you could be laying at the beach one moment then boating in the river the next. Entertainment ranges from hanging out at any of the laid back bars and breweries on the beach, experiencing the history of space exploration at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, and strolling through our quaint historic areas, like one of my favorite spots, Cocoa Village.
Historic Cocoa Village is this charming melting pot of old historic buildings and new businesses. It seems like something is opening up in Cocoa Village all the time. There's great food, delicious drinks, awesome coffee spots, an adorable bookshop, a place to throw hatches, and so much mor ...
